In the years 2020 and 2022, I had the honor of volunteering in Cajamarca, Peru, collaborating closely with institutions dedicated to the well-being of the local community.
On both occasions, I experienced the gratification of being able to assist hundreds of people with our chiropractic services, many of whom traveled long distances and waited hours for care. Although exhausting, the process becomes extremely rewarding as you witness improvement in your well-being and sometimes surprising recoveries.
Unfortunately, many of the ailments we treat are a consequence of lack of access to adequate medical care.
More and more chiropractors are joining humanitarian missions in different parts of the world, from India to Mexico, demonstrating that even the smallest actions can generate a significant impact.
As Eduardo Galeano said: “Many little people, in small places, doing small things, can change the world.”

I experienced my first chiropractic humanitarian mission on February 19, 20 and 21, 2020! Thanks to the generous support of the Provincial Municipality of Cajamarca, I was able to carry out this work at the Municipal Medical Center. Fluid communication with the local community, managed by the municipality, allowed us to reach our chiropractic care to a large number of people in need.
Throughout these three days, I had the invaluable collaboration of dedicated nurses, whose selfless help was vital in caring for numerous people with various ailments.
Many of these ailments are a consequence of the hard physical work of these people and the lack of access to adequate medical care due to economic limitations.
The community response to our chiropractic services was so overwhelming that all available spots were sold out on the first day.
I deeply thank Mayor Andrés Villar Narro for his unconditional support, which greatly facilitated this humanitarian work. Furthermore, your gesture of awarding me the honorary citizen medal is an honor that I treasure with gratitude.
On August 5-6, 2022, I had the privilege of carrying out my second chiropractic humanitarian mission. On this occasion, thanks to the invaluable support of the Cajamarca Lions Club, we were able to establish a space at the Tulpuna medical post to provide our chiropractic services.
The club, as part of its social commitment to low-income communities in the area, extended a cordial invitation to residents to participate in this chiropractic campaign for free.
During these two intense days, we had the enthusiastic collaboration of volunteer partners that allowed us to serve as many people as possible. The demand was such that places were sold out in the first two hours.
I express my most sincere gratitude to the Cajamarca Lions Club for their collaboration and for making it possible for chiropractic to reach those who need it most. In many cases, a single chiropractic session can make a big difference in relieving their ailments, especially when they do not have immediate access to traditional medical care.
