The World Health Organization (WHO) defines chiropractic as "the health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal system and the effects of these disorders on general health."
Chiropractic is one of the most advanced disciplines in the field of natural health care.
Studies have shown that patients who receive chiropractic care tend to use fewer medications, need fewer surgeries, and have fewer health problems compared to the general population. This explains why the satisfaction rate among these patients is so high.
Benefits of Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic allows you to recover your health naturally, without the need for medications or surgical interventions. It facilitates better stress management, optimizes performance in various areas of life and prevents future health problems.
Continuous chiropractic care dramatically improves the connection between the body and the brain, boosting health and resistance from within and reducing the possibility of disease.
Chiropractic in Spain
by the European Council for Chiropractic Education (ECCE).
Thanks to its high safety and effectiveness, millions of people go to chiropractors annually, experiencing high levels of satisfaction and significant improvements in their quality of life naturally.
Chiropractic adjustment: what is it and how does it work?
The nervous system is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and billions of nerves that function as an electrical network in the human body.
Its main function is to transmit vital information from the brain to all cells, muscles and organs. All vital functions, both conscious and unconscious, such as breathing, walking, heartbeat or digestion, depend on the precision of the nerve impulses that travel through the spinal cord, which is housed in the spine. That is, the spinal column is the channel through which all the information that the brain needs to send and receive circulates for the body to function correctly.
Additionally, the spine provides attachment points for the muscles of the back and ribs. When the vertebrae lose their mobility and/or correct alignment, they generate pressure on the nerves, causing inflammation and thus altering the health of the rest of the body. This phenomenon is known as vertebral subluxation. Subluxations can affect the intervertebral discs and, if not corrected, can lead to various pathologies.
What is a chiropractic adjustment?
Chiropractors correct vertebral subluxations through chiropractic adjustments. A chiropractic adjustment is a specific, quick, painless, safe and non-invasive movement that chiropractors perform with their hands to correct and/or eliminate subluxations.
These adjustments improve the relationship between the brain and body through the spine and nervous system, helping to prevent and correct blockages in both, allowing optimal functioning of the body.
Factors that affect the nervous system
Various factors, both internal and external, can inflame, block and prevent the proper functioning of the nervous system:
- Physical stress: poor posture, repetitive movements, sedentary lifestyle, overweight, falls, accidents, sports, etc.
- Emotional stress: personal or work.
- Chemical stress: dehydration, alcohol and tobacco, pollution, unhealthy diet, medicines, hormonal imbalance.
Chiropractic, through chiropractic adjustments, reduces nervous interference and enhances the body's own self-healing capacity.
Chiropractic care: Whom can it benefit?
Chiropractic is beneficial for everyone, regardless of their symptoms, physical or mental state, or age. It is not limited to people with specific conditions. Anyone can experience an improvement in their quality of life through chiropractic care.
